In 2017, we moved into our suburban homestead with several acres of land about an hour north of Philadelphia, PA. We decided to embrace a more holistic lifestyle, aiming to do more with what we had and rely less on grocery stores. Our goal was to teach our kids valuable skills that they wouldn't learn in school, such as growing their own food, understanding different types of plants and their uses, and harvesting sustainable proteins through practices like hunting and fishing. We also wanted to instill in them the importance of giving back and living off the land, which included building a chicken coup to support our local agriculture efforts.
